Featuring Small Reactions (Rock -N- Roll Holiday Extravaganza)
Also appearing: Jeffrey Butzer and the Bicyle Eaters
“Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?!” Charlie Brown exclaims in A Charlie Brown Christmas. “Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about” answers Linus in a quiet, matter-of-fact tone. For many, A Charlie Brown Christmas and the accompanying score by Vince Guaraldi perfectly capture what the season is all about.
In its 6th year returning to The EARL, for two nights on December 20th and 21st, Jeffrey Bützer and T.T. Mahony with Robby Handley will perform Guaraldi’s score to A Charlie Brown Christmas with a spirit only fitting of Charlie Brown himself. The trio will connect our childhood to the present day with the jazzy 40-minute score featuring all of the hushed, fun, but often melancholy undertones that define Christmas. As with years past, this show finds the trio with a few extra surprises to make these shows ones to remember.
Opening the show will be The Small Reactions’ Rock ‘N’ Roll Christmas Extravaganza. You know that feeling when you dread Christmas because of that one uncle you only see at Christmas dinner? You remember how you really shouldn’t like him because he’s so frank, outspoken, and politically incorrect about everything, but you kind of do? This is that embodiment of that feeling with Christmas covers by bands like The Sonics, The Ramones, The Wailers, The Trashmen, and others.
Jeffrey Bützer & The Bicycle Eaters open the show with a short set, so don’t be late. These shows generally sell out, so getting tickets in advance is highly recommended.
