In celebration of its current exhibition Barrique: Wine, Design, and Social Change, which focuses on furniture created in Italy and designed by some of the most renowned Italian and international architects and designers, the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) will host a Festa Italiana on Saturday, October 5 from 7 to 10 p.m. Guests at this all-inclusive event will enjoy an evening of Italian culture featuring a café setting on the piazza in front of the museum, a sampling of Italian fare, Italian cocktails, wines courtesy of Georgia Crown and traditional Italian accordion music from Don Discenza. The Barrique exhibition will be open for viewing as well.
The Festa Italiana Honorary Host Committee includes Angela della Costanza Turner, Italian Honorary Consul General; Leo Pieri, Director of the National Italian American Foundation for Georgia; Max Salmi, Marketing Operations Manager, SCM Group North America; Jim Budd, Chair of Georgia Tech’s School of Industrial Design and Krystina Madej, Visiting Assistant Professor with the School of Literature, Communications, and Culture at Georgia Tech. This fun cocktail party is presented in collaboration with the National Italian American Foundation, Pirelli and Landmark Fiat of Atlanta. $50 per person, $40 for members
