“OPERATION HEALING” Families Rising Above the Challenge GOAL Help participants understand the cycle of deployment and its effect on military families OBJECTIVES Increase knowledge about military culture/population Increase awareness about the role deployment plays in the military family Provide clinicians with resources and therapeutic interventions that can be used to assist them as they work to improve client’s well-being COURSE CONTENTDiscuss the cycle of deployment/reintegration and how that impacts the military family.Understand the impact deployment has on Reservist, National Guard and their families Discuss the impact of deployment on the spouseDiscuss the unique challenges faced by the military coupleUnderstand the impact of deployment on the military child (all stages of child development)Assess the impact of deployment and reintegration on the relationshipProvide therapeutic tools/resources specific to this unique populationProvide creative therapeutic interventions for both individual and group settings COURSE HOURS Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. A 1hr-15min break will be provided for lunch on your own.
