“Soul Kitchen,” by acclaimed Turkish-German director Fatih Akin, is a warm-hearted comedy about a multicultural community in Hamburg. During a stretch of bad luck, Greek-German restaurant owner Zinos disturbs the peace in his eatery by hiring a more talented chef and alienating the local customers. With his criminal brother asking Zinos for help, events soon start spinning out of control. “Soul Kitchen” won the Special Jury Award at the Venice International Film Festival in 2009. The screening will be in German with English subtitles. This is the seventh event in the German Movie Night spring series on "Germany - On the Move."
