Phoenix Flies: A City-Wide Celebration of Living Landmarks was created in 2003 by the Atlanta Preservation Center as a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the dramatic rescue of the Fox Theatre, an event that changed Atlanta’s preservation outlook forever. During its history the celebration has presented upwards of 775 events and provided more than 15,000 free opportunities to individuals to experience Atlanta’s rich history. For this Decennial Phoenix Flies there are over 200 events and more than 6,000 opportunities to enjoy Atlanta's rich history.
