Do you enjoy creating things or learning new hobbies? Have you been frustrated with the quality of store bought candles? Come have fun with us with making your own soy and other natural wax candles. Learn the techniques that took years to master in handcrafting beautiful soy candles whether you want to start your own business or to give away to family & friends as gifts. You will have fun learning how to make soy pillar/votive candles (a higher melt point & hard soy wax) and container candles (a lower melt point & soft wax). What is soy wax?Soybean wax, often referred to simply as “soy wax,” is produced with hydrogenated soybean oil. In 1993, inventor Michael Reynolds discovered it as he was looking for a cheaper alternative to beeswax. It was the first innovation in the candle industry for over a hundred years. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oils of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature.Soy candles burn cleaner, longer and are virtually soot free when wick trimming is properly maintained compared to the leading traditional paraffin candles. Soy wax can be easily cleaned up with just soap and warm water. Benefit to making candlesThere are a lot of benefits to making candles whether you are just getting started or are in the early stages of your candle-making.The ability to earn additional income as little as $75 to as much as $500 per day depending on your financial desires and need.Enjoy the opportunity to network and meet new people.Save money on gifts by making your own to give to family and friends. Age Requirements Although our primary focus is for adults, our classes are open to all ages of 9 and above.
