The "Wild & Scenic Film Festival" is the largest environmental film festival in North America. With a growing public awareness for the environment, the festival aims to increase this groundswell through inspiring and educational films that hopefully will motivate people to go out and make a difference in their community and around the world. Each year, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Georgia River Network and Georgia ForestWatch partner to select the best of these award-winning environmental films and bring them to Atlanta in a three-hour program. The program (with a 20-minute intermission) offers a mix of films addressing environmental issues such as energy, youth empowerment, wildlife preservation, recycling, and the protection and restoration of wild lands and waters. This is a touring version of the national festival presented each January in Nevada City, Calif., by the North Yuba River Citizens League.
