Discover why and how people fought for equal rights, from wanting to eat at a diner to seeking to integrate schools to have a better education. These were just some of the personal challenges during the Civil Rights Movement that students will explore during this special school program. Participate in a Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) training session, learn about unsung civil rights heroes, view performances, and much more.
Black History Month Fridays at the Atlanta History Center. Admission is $8 per student; one adult admitted free for every10 students; Title I schools receive a discounted rate of $6 per student.
