Intro into Sewing - Mina style! Circle Skirts and Pantaloons! Always having to look online for circle skirts to add to that bedlah that you want to wear?  Have a lovely top you just want a cute flirty skirt to go with it?  Have a tribal outfit that you want to put pantaloons under?  Or a shear skirt that you want to have something more sold under it to keep it more modest?  How about wanting to learn to make comfy pants that you can lounge around the house in all day... Then this is the workshop series for you.  Learn to either make a Circle Skirt or Pantaloons/Comfy pants without a pattern in three easy 1 1/2 hour class sessions. (Must attend all three sessions)Feb 10th: Class 1: Measuring / Drafting your pattern Feb 17th: Class 2: Cutting and starting to sewFeb 24th: Class 3: Finishing touches and embellishments. What you will learn: How to accurately measure yourself for your own Skirt/Pantaloon/Comfy pants pattern. How to draft that own pattern. How to set up your sewing machine, thread it, put a needle in and make a bobbin. What stiches to use to make your skirt/pants, and why they are important to use. and How to correctly measure and add elastic to your pants/skirt. you will need to bring:  +sewing machine + 4-5 yards of fabric (at least 45inchs wide) for skirt or pants and an optional 2 yards of contrasting fabric for bottom of skirt (choose a fabric that is not slippery, a cotton or a crep back satin is perfect. do not pick a chifon, silk, flat satin or those types of fabrics as they will annoy you when you are just starting.) + a package of 1 or 1 1/2 inch non roll elastic for the waistband for both the skirt and pantalones, also with the pantaloons 1 package of 1/2 inch non roll elastic for ankles +thread to match +scissors +soft-tape measuring tape +pinsI am offering a "Basic Kit" package for an extra fee. It will include 5 yards course muslin, 2 yard elastic, scissors, measuring tape, thread, and pins. These beginners kits are basic low end kits but contain everything necessary for class without the hassle of shopping Online version of this class will be offered after this session to let me work out the kinks of trying to teach this to someone online.
