This class is for Taekwon-Do students who've attained at least a 6th Gup Low Green Belt, up to a Black Belt. Students will continue learning the Taekwon-Do Tenets, as well as intermediate to advanced patterns, sparring and self-defense techniques. Training will be both physical (exercises designed to produce power and stamina) and academic (introduction to more Korean words, history, Taekwon-Do philosophy, and technical teaching). Students in this class will be able to progress toward a black belt. Late registration will not be accepted. This class is very traditional and disciplined. Prerequisite: Students must be a minimum of 8 years old at the start of the session - NO EXCEPTIONS, and must be evaluated by the instructor before enrollment. Students transferring from another Taekwon-Do school must provide grade certificate saying 6th Gup/Kup or higher. Students will be required to maintain an annual membership in the United States Taekwon-Do Federation (annual membership fee is $50); Additional fee may be required for instructor and/or referee courses. Supplies: Sparring gear (see instructor). Attire: ITF Taekwon-Do uniform; Flip-flops, sandals or sneakers.
