The play is an Atlanta version of The Birdcage/La Cage Aux Folles, presented by the City of the South theater company and directed by Tony Smithey. Set in Atlanta, a young couple deals with one’s ultraconservative straight parents and the other’s flamboyantly gay parents on a visit home from college. The laugh filled production hits very close to home with the political issues of today in a typical Southern accent all wrapped up with a Christmas twist. The main room of Jungle Atlanta has been transformed into an intimate dinner theater of banquet seating and linen-topped tables with a catered three-course dinner of a salad, an entrée and a dessert.
