From well-known wildlife to critically endangered species on the brink of extinction, the Zoo offers memorable close encounters with more than 1,000 animals from around the world. New to the Zoo is Trader’s Alley: Wildlife’s Fading Footprints, featuring two new sun bears and breathtaking views of Sumatran tigers. Other highlights include world-famous giant pandas, two of the nation’s most recognized collections of gorillas and orangutans, and a global center of excellence for the care and study of vanishing reptiles and amphibians. The Zoo is open daily with the exceptions of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Keeper talks, interactive wildlife shows and education programs run year-round. Zoo Atlanta opens at 9:30 am, ticket is valid any time during the day.
