Each day in the United States, 3 women are killed by a partner and 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner. Intimate partner violence is the leading cause of injury for women in the U.S. today. Dr. Debra Houry, MD, MPH, will discuss identifying and intervening with intimate partner violence victims in health care settings and how to translate this into a societal approach. This event will take place in the Rollins School of Public Health, Claudia Nance Rollins Building, 1518 Clifton Road, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322 on the 8th Floor in the Lawrence P. and Ann Estes Klamon Room.
