A Celtic Christmas Sat 12/15/12
Company of musicians & dancers featuring guest artists John Doyle, Jamie Laval and Joe Craven.
Each winter an astonishing event takes place in Atlanta - a yearly gathering of musicians, dancers and singers, young and old alike - who share a common joy at the darkest, most magical time of the year. In addition to the extraordinary family of musicians and dancers that are the heart of Celtic Christmas , this year's show includes several outstanding guest artists: Grammy nominated Irish guitarist/singer John Doyle, Scottish fiddler Jamie Laval - "One of North America's finest practitioners of traditional Scottish music" (San Jose Mercury News), the wild and wondrous Appalachian clogger Jesse Edgerton, and multiinstrumentalist/ humorist/ Joe Craven. As the San Francisco Chronicle puts it: "Joe Craven is magical!" At the heart of Celtic Christmas is a rare and uniquely talented company of performers: The Glencoe School of Scottish Highland Dance, The Atlanta Irish Dance Troupe (Compántas Rince Gaelach Atlanta), The sweet harmonizing of The Rosin Sisters, The Atlanta Junior Ceili Band, fiddler Katherine Irwin-Thomas, The Buddy O'Reilly Band, old-time fiddler Tim Cape, Highland pipers Henry Frantz and John Recknagel and Highland drummers Fran Frantz and Troy Weber, vocalist Whit Connah, and Celtic/ Welsh triple-harpist/vocalist Kelly Stewart-Brzozowski.
