Bent Frequency will present a Chinese New (Y)Ear concert featuring the music of award-winning Chinese-American composer Lei Liang on Saturday, February 9th at the Kopleff Recital Hall at Georgia State University. Liang has received critical acclaim for his visionary works that fuse aspects of traditional Chinese with the sound world and aesthetic of a 21st Century musical language. This concert will feature his compositions and traditional music for the pipa.
Works to be performed include Five Seasons for string quartet and pipa, YUAN for saxophone quartet, Parts for Floating Space for saxophone and percussion, Lake for two muted trumpets and traditional Chinese music on pipa. Featured performers include the Vega String Quartet, Flux Saxophone Quartet and members of Bent Frequency, ensemble in residence at Georgia State University. Mr. Liang will be in attendance for this production._________________________________________________________________________
