Dan Veach premieres his new book Elephant Water, a unique blend of modern American poetry and the ancient Chinese art of ink painting, at this reading and release event. Veach will read from and sign copies of the book, which will be available for purchase at Callanwolde. He will also present Creature Feature, a delightful show of animated ink paintings from the book. Veach is the editor of Atlanta Review, an international poetry journal which he founded in 1994; winner of the Willis Barnstone Translation Prize; co-editor and translator of Flowers of Flame, the first anthology of wartime Iraqi poetry and winner of an Independent Publisher Book Award for Poetry; and founder of Poetry Atlanta (1984). Poet Travis Denton will also read a selection of his works. General Admission: $5 at the door Seniors/Students: $3 at the door
