Pierre Rigal's Compagnie dernière minute Salon de Danse returns to Atlanta with the new work "Standards," which is a bold statement on human assimilation into codes of behavior. The piece challenges, confounds and delights audiences with gravity, nonsense, melancholy, humor, paradox and theatricality — all through the physical vocabulary of hip-hop dance. Rigal, a true Renaissance man, has backgrounds in athletics, mathematics, economics and film. His interest in the interplay of dance with technology shapes his totally unique choreographic voice.
