July 4, 2012 - Marietta - Tracy Ellis (right) shakes hands with a Vietnam Vet as a group from the Georgia Vietnam Veterans Alliance marched past to the applause of the spectators. The Marietta Freedom Parade included 110 entries, 2,000 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators, according to the organizers. The parade started at Roswell Street Baptist Church, traveled through the Square and ended at North Marietta Parkway. Entries included marching units from the city of Marietta, Air National Guard Band of the South, civic organizations, beauty queens, scouts and local businesses. The parade’s end marked the start of the Fourth of July Festival at Marietta Square, with fireworks scheduled for the evening. BOB ANDRES / BANDRES@AJC.COM
